I’m Stephen McClurg, a writer, critic, and occasional musician living in Alabama. I write poetry, fiction, essays, interviews, and reviews, often exploring horror, memory, place, popular culture, and the moments when ordinary life becomes unsettling.
I review books and films for Horror DNA and write Musicalia, an ongoing series for The Drunken Odyssey that pairs playlists with original poems. My work has also appeared in other publications and projects.
This site brings that work together along with occasional notes on what I’m reading, watching, listening to, or working on.
My first full-length poetry collection, Looking Through Ghosts to See the Stars, is forthcoming.
